St. Martin Parish in Sunnyvale is a Catholic community dedicated to faith, fellowship, and service. Rooted in Christ's teachings, we strive to nurture spiritual growth, celebrate the sacraments, and build a loving community for all.
Our History
From humble beginnings to a growing ministry
In 1910, St. Martin was a mission within the boundaries of St. Joseph Parish, which included the towns of Mountain View, Los Altos, Sunnyvale, and Mayfield (south of Palo Alto). Fr. John Cullen was sent to Sunnyvale to start a mission, to build a church - a $7,000 wooden structure, opened in time for Christmas 1910. The mission consisted of approximately 200 Latin-origin families and 50 Irish families.
